Sunflower Memories Appeal - May 1st - 31st
Last May the garden at Blythe House Hospice was transformed by nearly 200 special sunflower plaques, acting as beautiful bright reminders of the loved ones in our community. We’d love you to join us this year to remember someone special by dedicating a sunflower to them. With your help we can continue to sow the seed of free care for people in the High Peak who are affected by cancer, life-limiting illness or bereavement.
Your personalised sunflower will have your loved one’s name written on, and will be displayed in the hospice garden throughout May, forming a lovely carpet of yellow blooms. You are welcome to come and see your sunflower at any time during May, our garden will be permanently open during this time. Once the appeal has finished the plaque is yours to keep if you’d like to pop in and collect it.
This year you’re also warmly invited to our special Sunflower Memories Coffee Morning on Friday 18th May from 10:30am-12:30pm. Come along and grab one of the delicious cakes and spend some time wandering through the sea of sunflowers in our peaceful garden, and reflect on the life of those you love. We really hope that you can join us for this event.
To say thank you for taking part in this appeal, we’ll send you a personalised card containing sunflower seeds for you to plant in your own garden. The sunflower’s that grow will be a beautiful tribute and is a lovely way to celebrate the life of your loved one at home.
